Celebrating Our Volunteers – ChangeMaker Charles McCord

harles McCord

April 23 – 29, 2017 is National Volunteer Week, an opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice and support to causes they care about in their community. Their stories can serve to inspire others to find ways to take action that creates change.

vol-apprec-logoService Unites, the theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week, captures the power of ChangeMakers to come together to build stronger, more vibrant communities through service.

Charles McCord is a great example of a Gilgal ChangeMaker. He is our longest serving volunteer, and began his service to Gilgal as one of our initial Board Members.

In the past 12 years, he has taught Bible studies, served as an advisor to the staff, and twice monthly leads a Job Readiness group that prepares our women to find gainful employment!

Thank you Charles for being a ChangeMaker!  Changes Happens at Gilgal because you serve! #changehappens #mygilgalstory

We are so grateful for all of our Gilgal Volunteers that we will recognize them all month.  Join us as we celebrate the many individuals and groups that make Gilgal special for the women we serve.

You can also meet Charles and other Gilgal ChangeMakers on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m. as we honor them during our Family and Friends’ Day.
